Poppy Love: Colour Trends 2026; Dress Your Windows Beautifully.
Spring has a wonderful way of making us look at our homes with fresh eyes. Perhaps it is the longer evenings flooding your rooms with golden light, or simply the urge to shake off winter and start anew. Whatever the reason, May is the perfect moment to consider how colour, through your curtains and blinds, can completely transform the mood of a space. This year's palettes are particularly inspiring, and we are sharing our favourite ways to bring them to life.
What's Defining Interior Colour in 2026?
This year, the conversation in interiors has moved away from the cool, stark tones that dominated the early part of the decade. In their place, we are seeing a beautiful return to warmth, depth and nature-led hues; Colours that feel grounding and considered rather than trend-chasing.
The overarching theme is quiet confidence: palettes that are rich without being overwhelming, and calm without being bland.
The Palettes We Are Loving Right Now.
Burnt Terracotta and Antique Clay Tones.
Terracotta hasn't faded; If anything, it's matured. In 2026, we are seeing it settle into deeper, dustier versions: think burnished rust, antique clay and sun-baked ochre. These tones work beautifully in living rooms and dining spaces, adding warmth that feels both timeless and thoroughly modern.
A recent client in Fleet chose a handwoven terracotta linen for her living room curtains, and the result was stunning. The fabric caught the afternoon light and gave the whole room an almost Mediterranean warmth, even on a grey Surrey afternoon.

Soft Sage and Botanical Greens.
Green remains one of the most versatile and enduring interior colours, and this year it is appearing in softer, more muted forms. Sage, eucalyptus and dusky willow feel incredibly fresh for spring, particularly in bedrooms and garden-facing rooms where you want to blur the line between indoors and out.
These shades pair especially well with natural textures such as linen, cotton canvas and woven Roman blinds in sage green are a particular favourite in our studio at the moment.

Warm Stone and Biscuit Neutrals.
Neutrals are anything but boring in 2026. The shift is firmly towards warm-toned beiges: creamy biscuit, soft stone and pale cashew. These shades create effortlessly elegant interiors and work as a beautiful base for layering.
For a client in Camberley who wanted a calm, cohesive aesthetic throughout her open-plan ground floor, we designed made-to-measure curtains in a warm oat linen that tied each space together whilst letting her artwork and furniture take centre stage.

Dusty Blues and Soft Indigo.
For those who love a cooler palette, dusty blues and washed indigos are having a quiet moment. Unlike the bold navy of previous years, these tones are softer and more faded, think antique denim or a watercolour sky at dusk. They work beautifully in bedrooms or studies, particularly when paired with wooden poles and natural brass hardware.

How to Incorporate These Colours Confidently.

Choosing a new colour for your curtains or blinds doesn't have to feel daunting. Here are a few simple principles we share with our clients:
Start with what you love. If a colour makes you smile in a magazine, it will likely make you smile in your home.
- Consider the light. North-facing rooms benefit from warmer tones; south-facing rooms can handle cooler hues without feeling cold.
- Don't match, coordinate. Your curtains needn't match your sofa or walls exactly. A complementary tone often creates a more sophisticated, layered look.
- Bring in a fabric sample. Colour looks very different on a screen versus in your actual space. We always recommend viewing swatches in natural light before committing.
